Centrepointe and Hemmingwood Area Traffic Management Study

UPDATE (Feb.11 meeting)

Due to the nature of the Public Advisory Committee, we believe that it is best to limit the size of the Committee. We already finalized committee members.

We would like to encourage interested members of public to drop by at our open house scheduled on Thursday, February 11th, between 6:30-8:30PM, at the Chamber in Ben Franklin Place.

The City of Ottawa is undertaking an Area Traffic Management (ATM) Study aimed at addressing traffic related concerns along Centrepointe Drive and Hemmingwood Way. The main focus of the study is addressing vehicle speeding concerns and pedestrian safety.

The City of Ottawa is looking for individuals interested in joining the Public Advisory Committee (PAC) for the above study. Members of the PAC will be requested to take part in two, two hour meetings:

  • First meeting – existing traffic conditions will be presented and members are encouraged to provide their comments on traffic concerns.
  • Second meeting – staff will outline alternative area traffic management plans and members can express their opinions and recommendations.

The first PAC meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. The location of the meeting is Room 1C, Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive. Please advise me if you would like to join the PAC and whether you can attend the first meeting.

PAC members are also encouraged to attend the Open House session(s) where members of the community are invited to provide input into the study process. The first Open House is scheduled on Thursday, February 11th, 2016 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. The location of the Open House is the Chamber, Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive.

Public participation promotes a greater understanding of the situation resulting in better decisions to address your concerns.  We are committed to working with the community in developing an overall plan for the Centrepointe Drive and Hemmingwood Way ATM study.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
