Rash of thefts from local cars

Crime Alert

Issue:

Between March 14th and 15th 2016 there were 4 reported theft from vehicles in the Centrepointe Dr community. There was no reported damage to the vehicles that were targeted. Suspects targeted loose change, GPS devices and other small items. .

What can you do – Safety Tips:

  • Don’t leave personal identification, vehicle registration or insurance certificates or credit cards in your vehicle

  • Remove valuables and shopping bags from view. This includes loose change and electronic devices (i.e GPS)

  • Never leave your vehicle running and unattended

  • Always close windows, lock doors and activate alarms if you have them

  • Never leave your garage door opener in your vehicle.

  • Park your vehicle in the garage or in well lit areas with pedestrian traffic .

  • Report any suspicious activities or people by calling 613-230-6211.
